We Draw Weird Characters and Put Them on Really Good Shirts

There's a specific kind of person who laughs at the wrong part of the horror movie. Who names their houseplants. Who has, at least once, built an entire evening around a single pizza. If that's you, hi. We made this shop for you.

Cpecana is a small apparel brand built around one idea: graphic tees should have characters, not just graphics. Every shirt we sell stars an original character we drew from scratch, with a personality, a backstory and, usually, a questionable relationship with snacks.

Where the characters came from

Cpecana started as a sketchbook habit. For years, notebook margins filled up with strange little creatures. A cave monster who loves donuts more than anything in the world. A butcher who looks absolutely terrifying but is honestly just very serious about his craft. A vampire girl with pigtails who is far too cheerful for someone who sleeps in a coffin.

Those characters didn't have anywhere to go. Then friends started asking, "Can I get that monster guy on a shirt?" The honest answer was no. So in 2025, we fixed that.

What we actually make

Right now the Cpecana cast lives on tees, V-necks, ringer tees and sweatshirts across three worlds:

Horror and dark humor. Campy, not gory. Think the Butcher, a cave monster with a crush, and a crew of misfit monsters who look like they just walked out of a late-night comic strip.

Anime and goth. Cute meets creepy. Vampire girls, pink-haired heroines and an anatomical heart with a line of poetry on the back.

Cartoon and food. For snack-based personalities. A bearded guy whose love language is 1 AM pizza, and an alien who seems genuinely delighted to be here.

Every design is printed on demand. When you order, your shirt is printed for you and shipped straight to your door. That means no warehouse full of unsold shirts and less waste overall.

Why the shirt matters as much as the art

A great design on a thin, scratchy tee is a waste of a great design. So we print most of our characters on heavyweight, garment-dyed cotton, like Comfort Colors 1717. It has a relaxed fit and a soft, washed-in color that makes it feel like a shirt you've owned for years. Our sweatshirts are a mid-weight cotton blend built for layering and late nights.

We'll get deeper into fabric in a future post. For now, the short version: we pick shirts we'd actually wear on a Tuesday, not just on Halloween.

What you'll find on this blog

We're calling this blog the Sketchbook, because that's where everything starts. Every week, you'll find one of these:

Character stories. The lore behind each design, so you know exactly who you're wearing.

Behind the art. How a character goes from a doodle to a finished shirt.

Style and gift guides. How to actually wear a horror tee, and what to buy for the weird friend in your life.

Inspiration. The movies, comics, anime and snacks that shape the Cpecana style.
